Children

Hello! Welcome to All Nations Children’s Department!

Our vision is to work alongside parents and carers to provide every child in our group with a firm foundation of God’s Word and how it relates to them and the world they live in. We work with the hope that each child may start and grow in life with a firm grasp of basic concepts about God, secure in the knowledge of the Triune God with a focus on a relationship with Him through Jesus the Son of God.

We really believe that if we teach children the right way to go, that is the truth of God's Word, that a firm foundation of His love and Person will be laid in their hearts. We also believe that children should be helped to build an intimate, honest and secure relationship with the God Who loves and made them.

We have two age based groups

Acorns – Under 5 year olds

Treasures – 6-11 year olds

Each quarter the children will explore thematic lessons which will plant the seeds of God’s Word in their hearts and minds. This is done through fun and lively teachings complemented by games, songs, crafts and the often very spontaneous input of the children’s questions and comments (often the best part of the lesson).

We learn a new Bible Verse every quarter which is the basis for all our sessions.

This quarter we are looking at True Disciples: The marks of a true follower of Jesus

Memory Verse:  Matthew 28:19 - Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit

This term is follows the story of the journeys of the followers of Christ and what that means for us today. Our prayer is that our children would understand what it means to be a disciple and would want to follow Jesus and tell/help others to follow also.

Ideally each week, focuses on a story of a disciple or a group of disciples and brings to current life, the incredible adventures of people that follow Christ.

We will be emphasising that these stories really happened and the disciples in the bible are real people like you and me. We close our teachings with the reminder that Jesus still has true disciples today that the children themselves know! This will hopefully help them to learn that God is everlasting and does not change and that the prospect of being a disciple is a very real, open and essential calling given to them also.

We want our teachers and children to be excited about who Jesus is and the life He calls us to!
